Join for a night with Gengoroh Tagame!

If you are a fan of Gengoroh Tagame, you will not want to miss this night! Join us for a wonderful evening where we will celebrate the release of Volume 2 of My Brother’s Husband by Gengoroh Tagame! Essentially the Tom of Finland of Japan, here Tagame wildly switches his highly erotic gears mid-career with this family friendly PG-rated surprise hit! Not only will we have copies of his work available for sale, the artists himself will be here! As well as nationally acclaimed book cover designer Chip Kidd, will be here to have an in conversation session with Gengorho Tagame.

This event is free, and all are welcome.

About the Artist
GENGOROH TAGAME was born in 1964 and lives in Tokyo. After graduating from Tama University of Art, Tagame worked as an art director while writing manga and prose fiction, contributing illustrations for various magazines. In 1994 he cofounded the epochal G-Men Magazine and by 1996 he was working full-time as an openly gay artist. He is the author of dozens of graphic novels and stories which have been translated into English, French, Italian, and Korean. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries across Europe and America. My Brother’s Husband marks his first all-ages title, and earned him the Japan Media Arts Award for Outstanding Work of Manga from the Agency of Cultural Affairs.

CHIP KIDD is the four-time Eisner Award–winning designer and author of Batman: Animated, Peanuts: The Art of Charles M. Schulz, and Mythology: The DC Comics Art of Alex Ross. As an editor of graphic novels for Pantheon Books, he has worked with some of the very best talents in the medium, including Chris Ware, Dan Clowes, Art Spiegelman, Charles Burns, and David Mazzucchelli. Kidd is also the recipient of the National Design Award for Communications, the design industry’s highest honor.
